January 2019 - Mary Martin

Mary Martin (www.marymartinpaintings.com) is a figurative artist living in Winter Park, FL. She has loved classical oil painting since childhood, and now focuses her work on intimate figures, portraits and the beautiful Florida landscape plein air.

 

Mary studied art at the Joslyn Museum of Art in Omaha, Nebraska, and has attended workshops with many of the premier naturalist painters working today, including Tom Sadler, Don Sondag, Stacy Barter, Scott Burdick, Sue Lyons, Steven Assael, Patricia Watwood.

 

Mary is a member of the Florida Painters. Her artwork has been exhibited at Crealde School of Art, City Arts Factory, Casselberry Art House and Orlando Nude Night exhibitions.

 

Artist Statement: My paintings try to capture the drama of color and light to define these moments with atmosphere to remember.
