The Art of Wire Jewelry Workshop

NOTE: This workshop is being held at Keith and Jan Stephens’ Studio (rather than at the SoBo location).

Be aware that the studio is on the second floor of Jan’s home and does not allow wheelchair access.

Learn the basics of beautiful wire art jewelry through a variety of beginning wire wrap techniques from Master Wire Jewelry Artist, Jan Jowers-Stephens. This workshop is sampler of projects and wire wrapping styles that may include traditional wire wrap, jig work, coiling, texturizing or wire sculpture. Students will create jewelry from a selection of unique pendants, bracelets, earrings, and rings using a variety of wire shapes, sizes and metals, beautiful beads and gemstones. This workshop has no wire wrapping or jewelry making prerequisites.

Jan and Keith Stephens teach Wire Jewelry, Silver-Wear Jewelry and Cold Connections in their own studio and at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts (Young Harris, GA), Winter Garden Arts Association, Crealde’ School of Art, and The Florida Society of Goldsmith’s among other Central Florida locations. Their classes are an entertaining and educational experience where students take home jewelry and design skills along with beautiful creations at the end of each course. Each student will make at least 2 pieces of beautiful wire jewelry in the 4 hour workshop.

 

KIT COST: $35 per student. The instructor has a kit that you will need to purchase directly from her on the day of the workshop. Your kit will include the materials for all the projects. The kit cost will cover the cost of all supplies for the workshop projects, including specific materials such as wire, cabochons, beads, findings and consumables, use of all tools and workshop handouts. If you have your own jewelry tools you are welcome to bring them. Students will need to use glasses or other vision magnification so they can see fine detail. Additional materials and tools can be purchased at fair market prices at the end of class for completing additional projects at home.
