Learn the art of repurposing beautiful vintage silverware into art jewelry from Master Jewelry Artists Jan and Keith Stephens. In this workshop, students will design and construct bracelets, rings, earrings and pendants from beautiful vintage forks, spoons, knives, butter knives and other unique serving pieces. Students will learn a variety of metalsmithing techniques that may include bending, polishing, buffing, texturizing, patina, and simple wire work. The instructors will have kits that will include the materials for the projects.

Each student will make at least 2 pieces of beautiful “SilverWear” jewelry in the 4 hour workshop.

Jan and Keith Stephens teach Wire Jewelry, Silver-Wear Jewelry and Cold Connections in their own studio and at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts (Young Harris, GA), Winter Garden Arts Association, Crealde’ School of Art, and The Florida Society of Goldsmith’s among other Central Florida locations. Their classes are an entertaining and educational experience where students take home jewelry and design skills along with beautiful creations at the end of each course.

KIT COST: $35 per student. The instructors will have kits that you will need to purchase directly from them on the day of the workshop. Your kit will include all of the materials for all the projects. The kit cost will cover the cost of all supplies for the workshop projects, including specific materials such as vintage silverware, wire, cabochons, beads, vintage costume jewelry pieces, findings, consumables, use of tools and all workshop handouts. Each student will make 2-3 pieces of jewelry.

Students will need to use glasses or other vision magnification so they can see fine detail.

Additional materials and tools can be purchased at fair market prices at the end of class for completing additional projects at home.

Fee: Members $75 / Non-members $95
