CLOSED Workshop – Relief Printmaking

Introduction to Relief Printmaking

Saturday, January 19, 10am – 2pm

Artist Jennifer Cahill Harper

Relief printmaking is a wonderful way to expand your artistic mind and creative toolbox. It is also one of the oldest art forms, dating back to 500 BC. Jennifer will teach you how to carve a linoleum or wood plate to create a one color print using Caligo water miscible ink on linoleum or wood plate. You will also learn how to use a small etching press to print your pieces. Hand printing methods will be shown as well.

Students should bring tracing paper, apron, newsprint pad for carrying work home. Also, you may want to bring a lunch, drink, or snack for the noon break.

All other materials are included and everyone will receive a set of Sakura chisels, the same kind we will use in the studio.

Fee: $125 members/$135 non-members
