Watercolor Portraits from Quick Sketches
Thursday and Friday, December 6 and 7, 10 am – 4 pm
Artist Pam Wenger
Artist Pam Wenger will share her passion for creating portraits in watercolor with a “quick sketch” type of spontaneous style that involves minimal layering and the use of transparent colors to create luminous paintings. This workshop will be a combination of demo and hands-on portrait work. As part of her demo presentation, she will share her method of using an iPad or another tablet device for creating accurate portrait drawings without the need for gridding, tracing or projecting. If you have an iPad, please bring it along. Pam will have partially pre-drawn portraits for you to work on as part of our exercises – or you may draw freehand.
Experience Level: The workshop is designed for intermediate or experienced watercolor painters, but no portrait experience is necessary.
