Introduction to Macrame Techniques
Saturday, November 16, 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
Artist Alyssa Foxson
Macrame is an ancient form of textile that uses knotting and comes from the 13th century weavers word meaning “fringe”. This art form became super popular in the 60’s and is now back! Macramé can be used to make everything from wall hangings and plant hangers to jewelry, purses, and even clothing items. Using simple materials like cotton twine, jute, hemp, or yarn, macramé is only limited by the artist’s imagination. Embellishments like glass or wooden beads, as well as dyed threads, can also open up a range of creative possibilities.
Embrace your inner Boho goddess and come learn how to make macrame at this fun workshop! A variety of style choices and colors will be available! Cotton Macrame rope and string are provided.
