Introduction to Alcohol Ink

Learn from an expert all about how alcohol inks work and why they are becoming such a popular medium. Dawn will teach you techniques for using alcohol ink on Yupo paper, both wet on wet and wet on dry applications. You will learn the use of alcohol and texturizing techniques as you create an abstract painting using 2 colors and various techniques and a landscape painting using specific brush strokes to achieve beautiful effects.
Dawn has taught this workshop in a variety of venues from North Carolina to Florida, including Appalachian State University (Craft Enrichment Program), Watauga and Ashe County Arts Councils, Florence Thomas Art School, Arts League of Orange County, and Seminole County..Last year her work was exhibited in the City of Orlando Public Art Program at Leu Gardens.
Students should bring an old plastic card (expired credit type), old toothbrush, an apron or old shirt (inks stain fabric) and a playful attitude.
$5 supplies fee is included in the price. A beginner’s kit for $25 will be available to those who’d like to purchase them at the end of class.
