Watercolor Art With Colored Pencils

Participants will learn how to use two pencil mediums on one art piece! We will draw the image then wash color on with watercolor pencils and finish the artwork with wax-based colored pencils. Participants will learn how to use sanded paper.
Instruction will include drawing techniques and transferring of image, color layering and color mixing to determine lights and darks and mood of the art piece. We will also discuss matting and framing and hanging ideas.
Sanded Watercolor paper and image will be provided by the instructor.
Students need to bring: Prismacolor Pencils (No Verithins or student-grade colored pencils),Watercolor Pencils, Battery operated sharpener, Eraser and kneaded eraser, Ruler, Size 4 and 6 watercolor brushes
Mary Beth Lesko is a prolific artist and experienced instructor. She has specialized in colored pencil as an art medium for more than 14 years and her work has been shown extensively at galleries, including the SoBo Gallery in Winter Garden.
STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO BRING A BAG LUNCH – Ice Tea and water will be provided.
