Workshop – Color Theory and Exploration

Color Theory and Exploration

Saturday, November 9, 10 am – 5 pm

Artist Michael Grecian

In this one day class we will learn to mix all colors from a limited palette of primaries.

Learn complimentary colors on the 12-color color wheel, their relationship and how to use them to make strong and effective color statements. Understand juxtaposed colors, how colors next to colors affect the visual statement.
This class will benefit all students at any painting level to have a better understanding of color mixtures, placements of colors, and how colors affect each other in a painting. Students should come away with a good understanding of how to mix, make, and apply colors in their paintings with purpose for stronger visual statements. This is a fun, creative class.
Michael Grecian has taught color theory and color explorations for the last 20 years. All materials are provided, including water media paints, primarily watercolor, designers gouache, and acrylic.Students may bring their own brushes or other painting materials.
