Color Explorations

Color Explorations workshop is a very hands on learning experience. Students will learn color placements, color mixing, the use of juxtaposed colors in a variety of exercises. Whether you work in oils, acrylics, watercolor, gouache, color is color! Students will work on several prepared worksheets, as well a variety of surfaces to see how the surface we work on affects the colors visually.
Students can draw from Mike’s experiences: Fine Art MFA student at NIU, as a freelance illustrator and artist working with several top firms in the Chicago area. Friends with Richard Schmidt, Kunio Hagio, Irving Shapiro. mike will bring several originals whicj include Anne Abgott, Janet Rogers, Linda Kemp, Jean Peterson to name a few.
Michael Grecian has taught color theory and color explorations for the last 20 years. He offers workshops throughout the Southeast, teaching color theory and color disciplines. This is his second workshop at SOBO and his expertise and thorough preparation for his last workshop impressed everyone who participated. If you missed it, make sure you sign up this time. Space is limited.
All materials are provided, including water media paints, primarily watercolor, designers gouache, and acrylic.Students may bring their own brushes or other painting materials.
