Loving Vincent: The Van Gogh Legacy
Lecturer – Adrienne Lee
Saturday, September 16 from 12:00-1:30pm
( This is the same lecture presented on Thursday, September 28 from 6:30-8:00pm )
Before you see the movie, learn why Vincent Van Gogh was so loved. This lecture will take guests on a visual journey through the life and artwork of Vincent van Gogh. He never sold a painting and his work was often regarded with disdain. Misunderstood during his brief and turbulent life, he is now revered as a genius and a master of the Post-Impressionist movement. This lecture will explore his legacy through a discussion of the film “Loving Vincent.”
“Loving Vincent” is a film in which each of the 65,000 frames is hand painted in Van Gogh’s style. Requiring the skill of 125 artists, this is the first feature length hand painted film ever created.
