From Muse to Master: A Celebration of Female Artists
Redefining the Future of Art
Lecturer – Adrienne Lee
Saturday, October 28 from 12:00-1:30pm
Since humans could paint images on cave walls, women have been integral to the creation of art. First as muses and eventually becoming masters themselves, this three-part lecture series celebrates women who create art. From Artemisia Gentileschi to Marina Abramovic, guests will be introduced to an assortment of women who take creative expression into their own hands. Whether it’s painting, sculpture, photography or performance art, each session will recognize the unique perspective woman bring to the art world.
Session 3 will focus on Cindy Sherman, the Guerrilla Girls and Marina Abramovic. The class will discuss how women are currently redefining art via non-traditional art forms (i.e., performance art, protest art, etc.).
$10 for Members/ $15 for Non-members

I can honestly say I have not enjoyed an art lecture nor art lecturer as much since seeing videos of Rosamond Bernier at the Orlando Museum of Art. Now we have Adrienne Lee to carry on in this fine tradition of informing and entertaining. LL 3-27-17
I thoroughly enjoyed Adrienne Lee’s lectures on Frida Kahlo; they were educational, entertaining and thought-provoking. I look forward to attending the exhibit at the Dali on Friday armed with all this information and insight. SS 3-27-17

Adrienne Lee lectures with authority and wit! She has obviously delved deeply into the subject at hand to be able to give a 90 minute detailed lecture and field questions from the audience without a pause. Her delivery of facts and references is flawless…amazing. CP 3-26-17
