Workshop: Impressionist Landscape Painting in Oil and Cold Wax Oil

Join award-winning artist Noreen Coup for a full-day immersive workshop exploring the expressive potential of oil and cold wax. Learn color mixing techniques using a limited double primary palette, and create luminous, textured paintings using palette knives and squeegees. The class will cover composition fundamentals, layering for depth, and the effects of transparency—all while working from instructor-provided reference photos. Students will complete two finished pieces ready to hang.
Noreen Coup is a self-taught artist working in oil with cold wax medium, using a palette knife to create bold, textured abstract and landscape paintings. Her background in Interior Design from Woodbury University informs her sense of balance, color harmony, and perspective.
She began her art journey in Paris, studying at the WICE Academy, and has continued learning through workshops with master painters. Noreen has exhibited nationally and internationally, including in New York, France, Mexico, and California, and is an award-winning participant in juried art festivals.
Currently based in Winter Garden, FL, she serves on the board of the Winter Garden Art Association and teaches locally and abroad, including workshops in France, Italy, and Mexico.
