Orit-Portrait 2x2.jpg

ABOUT ORIT:

Award-winning artist Orit Reuben, is an impressionist pastel painter. Born in Israel to a family of artists, Orit is greatly influenced by her late grandfather, who was also a painter. As a child, she painted at the side of her mother, who still paints.

Orit is inspired by the beauty of nature, and loves to paint outdoors where she can truly experience her surroundings. She draws inspiration from light effects and loves to observe how objects are illuminated. Her paintings often depict glow and intense light. Orit prefers to paint on sunny days, which are plentiful in Florida, where she currently resides. Her innate sense of color results in playful and inventive color pallets.

In her previous career, Orit was an interior designer, which is why she often includes structures in her paintings. She finds compositional balance in the combination of the linear geometry of buildings and organic plant shapes.

Orit is represented by Authentics Art Gallery and Be On Park,  Arabella on Morse, and Live Oak Gallery. She is a signature member of The Florida Painters. a member of Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of Central Florida, American Impressionist Society, and a Member of Excellence of the Southeastern Pastel Society. Stacy is leading an upcoming 3 Day Oil Workshop at SOBO April 15-17th (click here for details)

TEACHER:

Stacy Barter - website

Stacy has been a professional, full-time artist for the past 25 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida, and working in graphic design, she stumbling into an all from life oil painting workshop with renowned instructor Gregg Kreutz and following that intense week of study, she knew that oil painting was what she must do. Four years later, after continuing to hone her newly found passion with further master instruction, Stacy leapt into oil painting professionally.

Stacy realized she was particularly drawn to painting from flowers and striving to capture their intricacy and beauty. This passion culminated in a painting of Peonies, honoring her grandmother, that won Best in Show, a $25,000 prize, with “Blossom - Art of Flowers”, an International Exhibition and Museum Tour in 2007.

Stacy has received significant award acknowledgements in Floral, Figure and Landscape paintings over the years that include awards with the National Oil and Acrylic Painter’s Society, Oil Painters of America, and The American Artists Professional League, including being granted Signature Status in all three organizations, and being reviewed for the same status by the American Impressionist Society and The Portrait Society of America.
